US Court Postpones Sentencing Of Nigerian Fraudster, Hushpuppi On Valentines’ Day
The United States District Court for the Central District of California has postponed the sentencing of Nigerian fraudster, Ramon Abbas popularly known as Hushpuppi till 11th July 2022.

According to the Court document, Judge Otis D. Wright in Los Angeles granted the order after Hushpuppi’s lawyers led by Louis Shapiro entered a request for postponement. He is expected to remain in custody in the intervening period of the delay. Remember it was reported earlier that the Instagram big boy was previously scheduled to be sentenced on Valentine’s day, the 14th of February, 2022 for scamming people across different continents in millions of dollars. He was arrested back on June 20, 2020 in Dubai and since then he has had several court appearances.Hushpuppi pleaded guilty last year to the charges seeking a lighter sentence.
the request of counsel, the sentencing is continued to 11th of July, 2022 at 11am, the court document said after the decision was taken on the 2nd of February. The Instagram big boy risks getting a 20-year jail term; 3 years of supervised release and a fine of $500,000 or twice the gross gain or gross loss resulting from the offense. The same court had also ordered the FBI to arrest the suspended head of the Intelligence Response Team, DCP Abba Kyari, for his alleged role in a $1.1million scam allegedly perpetrated by Hushpuppi and five others. The arrest of Hushpuppi back in 2020 is one that broke the internet because of his lavish lifestyle and the way he never failed to flaunt his expensive properties and acquisitions.He was known to have told lots of youths out there not to live a fake life and depend on God because it is God that has brought him this far. He dined with several celebrities like Daddy Freeze, Davido, DJ Cuppy, Dino Melaye, Mompha and others.
